If you have a passion for caring for and supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and prefer a flexible schedule, consider joining EP!C as a host family provider. Host Family providers are needed to welcome adults of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities into their homes.
Providers must have extra bedroom space for the individual to occupy and pass State inspection standards. EP!C provides all necessary training to potential providers who pass a Health Care Workers Background check, can perform CPR/FA, can lift up to fifty pounds, have a high school diploma/GED, and have a valid Illinois driver’s license. View our information sheets for more details regarding host family provider qualifications and housing requirements.
We understand that a host family provider has many responsibilities and will appreciate personal time away from these responsibilities. Relief staff are available to care for the individuals at no extra expense to you for up to twenty hours per person per month and fourteen days of vacation annually.
Being a host family provider is a contracted position in which the provider is reimbursed monthly based on the individual’s level of need. The reimbursement typically averages between $25,000 and $50,000 annually. As a host family provider, you may also be eligible to receive tax benefits.
